Bargello-a-GoGo is on a mission to revive Bargello embroidery, which was hugely popular in the 60s/70s and this Bargello Cat Cushion is a fun accessory to add to your home!

Bargello embroidery is quite simple, yet really effective as you will see when you embroider this groovy cat with the help of this PDF pattern!

New to Bargello embroidery? Not a problem! This pattern comes with a beginners guide to bargello embroidery, with detailed coloured photos, pattern charts and step by step written instructions to get you started in this vintage craft.

The finished cushion measures approx 39cm Length x 21cm Height at it's widest points.

Here is a summary of the groovy materials that you will need to make the cushion (more detail is given in the pattern):

3 x Skeins of Appletons Tapestry Wool in Shade 862
3 x Skeins of Appletons Tapestry Wool in Shade 625
3 x Skeins of Appletons Tapestry Wool in Shade 866
3 x Skeins of Appletons Tapestry Wool in Shade 504
3 x Skeins of Appletons Tapestry Wool in Shade 505
1 x Skein of Appletons Tapestry Wool in Shade 708
Zweigart 12 Count Mono Tapestry Canvas
A size 18 Tapestry Needle
Embroidery Scissors

You may also want to use some masking tape to secure the canvas edges when sewing. Notes on how to do this are included in the pattern.

THE PDF PATTERN CONSISTS OF 5 SEPARATE FILES:
A4 pattern instructions (the instructions are written in English)
3 x A3 Charts (detailing the pattern)
1 x A3 photo of the finished canvas (before sewn into a cushion)

*******PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU'RE PLANNING ON PRINTING THE PATTERN, YOU WILL NEED A PRINTER THAT CAN PRINT ONTO A3 PAPER FOR THE PATTERN CHARTS*******

If you're planning on turning the completed canvas into a cushion, you will also require the following:

Sewing Machine with a standard presser foot or walking foot
Medium-Weight fabric for the cushion backing measuring approx 60cm Length x 40cm Height
Matching sewing machine thread
Sewing needle
Dressmaker pins
Approx 1kg of toy stuffing (amount may vary slightly depending on how full you would like your finished cushion)
Dressmaking scissors (for cutting the canvas and fabric)

The pattern does provide step by step instructions (with photos) for how to turn the finished bargello canvas into a cushion but you may have some exciting alternative ideas about how you want to finish the canvas, such as framing it. The creative possibilities are endless!
