This groovy Bargello Embroidery design was inspired by a church prayer cushion that my friend sent me a photo of whilst she was visiting her local church.
The name of the new canvas pattern was inspired by the above story because I wanted to give this pattern a church themed name with a 1960s take on it.
I've always liked the song In-a-Gadda-Da-Vida by Iron Butterfly and I remember my Uncle telling me when I was younger that the song was originally derived from 'In the Garden of Eden' and was a love song about Adam and Eve.
This is how I decided on the name and thought it was a fun title.
This PDF pattern will provide you with all the instructions required to create a finished canvas in this bargello pattern that will measure approx 40cm length x 40cm height.
THE PDF PATTERN CONSISTS OF 3 SEPARATE FILES:
A4 patttern instructions (the pattern contains 10 pages and the instructions are written in English)
1 x A3 Colour Chart (detailing the pattern)
1 x A3 Colour photo of the finished canvas
The PDF pattern has been written using Appletons Tapestry Wool but can be substituted for an alternative tapestry wool such as DMC or Anchor. (Please note that a large quantity of the wool will be required if using DMC as there is only approx 8m in each skein compared to 10m in the Appletons and Anchor Tapestry Wool Skein).
Bargello embroidery is quite simple, yet really effective as you will see when you embroider this canvas.

36 x Skeins of Appletons Tapestry Wool
1 x Size 18 Tapestry needle
1 Piece of Zweigart 12 Count Mono Tapestry Canvas measuring approx 57cm x 57cm
Embroidery scissors
Masking tape or bias binding for securing the canvas edging whilst stitching your bargello embroidery
Any other additional materials that you require to turn your canvas into a finished project such as a cushion, seat cover, wall hanging etc.
