Bargello-a-GoGo is on a mission to revive Bargello embroidery, which was hugely popular in the 60s/70s!
My inspiration behind this striking Owl Wall Hanging was my nan's 1970's Macrame Owl Wall Hanging that she had in her home when I was growing up.
You'll see from the photos that the Owl has been designed in some striking, bright bold colours so you can see it clearly from a distance! It would make a fun, retro addition to any home!
Bargello embroidery is quite simple, yet really effective as you will see when you embroider this groovy wall hanging! It also has no compensation stitches so it has full Bargello Stitches all the way round!
The owl is finished off with a wooden dowel that is attached near the bottom. I also designed the owl with some fun eyes and nose detail within the Bargello Stitching.
It is an ideal project for beginner-intermediate embroiderers as it is a fairly quick project that can be sewn over a couple of days or several evenings during the week.
The high quality Appletons Tapestry Wools that are recommended in this pattern are 100% pure English Wool and are made and dyed in the UK.

The finished owl measures approx 18cm Width x 30cm Height at the widest/longest points (excluding the string for hanging the owl).

1 x Sheet of Plastic Canvas
Size 18 Tapestry Needle
5mm Wooden Dowel (20cm in Length)
Sharp, precision scissors (for cutting out the plastic canvas into the owl shape once you have completed your bargello stitches)
The pattern contains 21 pages and is written in English. There is also a separate Colour Chart included that shows the full Bargello Owl Stitches that need to be sewn.
