Zweigart have been producing high quality needlework fabrics since 1877.
The mono canvas works really well in Bargello Embroidery as the mono, interlocking style of canvas is great for this straight stitch style as you can easily step the stitches 'up and down' on it.
I've decided to stock the 12 count size as this works really well with the Appletons 4ply Tapestry Wool and a size 18 Tapestry Needle (also available in the shop).
I would recommend using this type of canvas for more fabric style projects, such as cushions and garments etc.
The canvas is initially quite stiff, but in my experience, does soften as it is sewn on.
Unlike plastic canvas, the edges do have a tendency to fray, so you can use masking tape temporarily around the edges when sewing your project. You will therefore need to finish the edging when making it into a project to prevent further fraying of the canvas.
Please note that to keep shipping costs to a minimum, the tapestry canvas will be shipped folded. If your canvas is creased before starting your project, you can iron it on a cool setting to remove those creases.
