This is a british florentine stitch book, which was written by a Dorothy Phelan who part owned The Sherborne Tapestry Centre in Dorset.
Her aim in writing this book back in the early 1990s was in response to many requests for good, new charted designs for Florentine Stitch patterns. At the time when this book was published, most other Florentine/Bargello embroidery books were out of print.
Dorothy gives a brief history of bargello embroidery and provides information about materials to use and the stitches and techniques in this book.
This is primarily a stitch pattern book of florentine stitch patterns with many colour photos provided of sample projects you could turn the patterned canvas into but there are no instructions on how to make the actual projects.
CONDITION - VERY GOOD - The book has previously been well kept with no markings to pages and minimal wear to the dust cover.
